This particular post is to give you all an update on what's going on in my life. I have officially moved into my house and I ended up buying the old brick house on Evergreen Avenue for those who were wondering. I really wanted the home on Fairview Drive but it needed a little more work than I felt comfortable doing by myself and you all know how I am...I'm not very good at letting others do things for me. I just felt like I knew in my heart what the right decision was and I just went for it.
Ben has been a huge help to me with the move so I'm extremely grateful to him for that, even if he did give me a hard time when it came to moving the contents of my closet. I swear, men will never understand that we really do need all those shoes. I did convert one of the smaller bedrooms into a big closet for me complete with a chandelier and a chaise lounge. I'm considering purchasing a wine fridge for my closet to keep in there so I never have to leave, but for now I love it the way it is. I do have a few remodeling/redecorating ideas but they seem to change on a weekly basis so I think I will live with things as they are for a while until I have a firm idea of what it is I want to do.
Elizabeth is still working with me on a couple of cases, documenting both my life and work. She should be with me for a few more months and then hopefully I will be able to take some much needed time off. Sometimes it gets overwhelming having someone around all the time but other times its very rewarding to get the stories out that I want to share with all of you. I'm somewhat of a celebrity here in town if you can believe that!
Well, better get back to work as there is a very hard case I'm working on right now with Ben. I just wanted to take a few minutes to say hello and thank you for subscribing to my blog. Is it Me?
I apologize for not having been able to find the time to post on my blog for a couple of months. Between moving into my new home and trying to balance work, my life has been crazy busy to say the least.
Over the past few months I've attended a lot of seminars and training courses in order to stay current on the latest techniques and advancements in the homicide field. During my most recent out of state training class I found myself with a three hour layover at the Atlanta airport and promptly went on a search for some food.
This is what I discovered in my quest.
Seriously, is this dress me or what? I love how the artist juxtaposed the gritty aspect of police work by using recycled crime scene tape and making it into an elegant gown. Much like my personality, I am the girliest girl I know yet I work in homicide. Too cool and I just had to take a picture of it and show all of you!

I Need Your Opinion
I hate to admit it but I’m exhausted. I’m physically and mentally spent. Those who have read my first novel know I’ve recently had some unfortunate things happen in my life and as a result I’m looking for a new place to live. I have mixed feelings about this as the house I currently live in is the first home I’ve ever owned and I love it. Or, I guess I should say I once loved it. Now it just brings bad memories to mind which is why I have decided to move. Moving is exciting, scary, and sad. It's as if those feelings are all wrapped into one giant emotional rollercoaster for me and I feel truly overwhelmed right now.
Today Elizabeth and I spent the entire day with my realtor looking at houses in Alton. I’ve narrowed my search down to three houses and I can’t decide which one I like best. I really don't understand why I'm having so much difficulty choosing one because I love watching House Hunters on HGTV and I have no problem picking out which house I think other people should buy. Sometimes they pick the one I think would be best for them and sometimes they don't (to which I admonish the buyers through the tv that they purchased the wrong one). It's so easy to pick out a home for someone else but when it comes to choosing one for yourself it's a whole different story. If you're anything like me you find yourself filled with self-doubt and reservations. You want to know if you truly can afford it not just now but years down the road. You ask yourself if it offers you the amenities you value the most. Most importantly you ask yourself, will I feel safe there? You never truly know so you choose based on the best of your ability but sometimes it's the people looking on the outside in that know whether you are making the right choice or not.
Most of you have followed along with me now for several months and I hope we've gotten to know each other well enough by now. I'm asking for your advice based on our friendship and what you know of me so far. Which house do you think best suits me and where do you see me living in my future novels? Let Me Introduce Myself
The purpose of this website is to update my readers on what’s going on in my life in between novels. My intent is to blog at least once a month so please make sure you subscribe (located in the left side bar) in order to keep as up-to-date as possible.
For those who have stumbled across this site blindly, please let me introduce myself. My name is Audrey Roscoe and I am the main character in a mystery book series written by Elizabeth A Hale, whose writing style reminds me of my favorite author, Patricia Cornwell. For months at a time Elizabeth
So who am I, you ask? What makes me so special? What are my interests?
I’m a thirty-three year old crime scene investigator for a small police department in Alton , Illinois St. Louis
Even though I deal with dead bodies during the day, I very much enjoy being a girl and all things girl-related like makeup and fashion. When I tell people what I do for a living they are shocked and quite frankly I’m not sure why. Perhaps the Coach bag I carry says, “I shop at Neiman-Marcus while the nannies take care of the children,” which couldn’t be further from the truth.
I may look high maintenance but I’m anything but. And maybe this is one of the reasons I chose the line of work I’m in…to try to prove to people to never judge a person by what they see on the outside. Because of this I feel I have to work extra hard to overcome stereotypes in a field dominated by men. And yes, I work hard, but if I’m going to be honest I wouldn’t have it any other way.
